Anaerobic digestion

During the anaerobic digestion process, waste from agri-food companies and internal processes is introduced into large tanks, where - in the absence of oxygen - bacteria transforms the organic matter present in the waste into biogas, a fluid made up of 65-70% biomethane.

More information

Liquid and semi-solid waste – both from external agri-food companies and the internal processing of waste from the wine industry – is introduced into biodigesters where, in the absence of oxygen and at a constant temperature of about 40°C, bacteria degrades the organic matter.

This produces a biogas which is subject to additional processing in order to transform it in biomethane, electricity and thermal energy.

To control and optimise anaerobic digestion yields, the Caviro Extra internal energy laboratory performs periodic analyses on incoming and outgoing matrices.

Caviro Extra is authorised to handle matrices with EWC code 02 only.
