Caviro Extra produces natural tartaric acid, obtained from the processing of lees and marc from the winemaking industry.
A 100% bio-based tartaric acid, free of impurities and extra-white in colour, is obtained by processing calcium tartrate from the by-products of winemaking. This plant-based product differs from synthetic tartaric acid, derived from fossil fuels.

Natural tartaric acid is used as an excipient and adjuvant for active ingredients contained in, for example, syrups, capsules, effervescent powders, as well as in slow-release patches and life-saving medications.
Food products
Tartaric acid is mainly used as a natural acidifier and preservative, for example, in the production of emulsifiers, baking powder, cookies, candies, jellies, jams, carbonated beverages, and bases for baby food preparations.
Wine
The use of natural tartaric acid in the wine sector as an acidity corrector represents complete circularity: a byproduct of grape returns to the wine production chain.
