Biogas cogeneration
A portion of the biogas obtained through anaerobic digestion in the cogeneration plant is converted into electrical and thermal energy. The former is partly reused for internal consumption and partly fed into the network, the latter is used to maintain the process conditions inside the biodigesters.
More information
Cogeneration is the combined production of electricity and thermal energy from a single primary energy source. A cogeneration plant, therefore, provides both electricity and heat, guaranteeing a better energy yield than the two separate production processes.
