Second-generation E85 is an automotive biofuel obtained from the denaturation of bioethanol from wine by-products – compliant with the EN 15376 standard – with petrol.

E85 from bioethanol of agricultural origin

First-generation E85 is an automotive biofuel obtained from the denaturation of bioethanol of agricultural origin – compliant with the EN 15376 standard – with petrol.

Bioethanol from wine by-products

Second-generation or advanced bioethanol (or biofuel) is obtained from the by-products of the winemaking industry and is used as a biofuel for transport.
Following government authorisation provided by the customer, Caviro Extra can also blend it with petrol (e.g. E85) or other additives (e.g. MTBE or ETBE).

Bioethanol of agricultural origin

First-generation bioethanol (or biofuel) is an anhydrous ethanol of agricultural origin and – in compliance with EN 15376 – is mainly used as a biofuel for transport although it can also be used for other purposes in the chemical-industrial sector. In addition, following government authorisation provided by the customer, Caviro Extra also blends it with petrol (e.g. E85) or other additives (e.g. MTBE or ETBE).
The product is clear and colourless.

Special denatured alcohol with ministerial authorisation

Caviro Extra is able to produce the special denaturant recipes of its customers.
Having obtained ministerial authorisation for the recipe, as per Italian Ministerial Decree 524/1996, customers can commission the Extra Alcohols division, which has different denaturants (see below), to produce their denatured alcohols.

Special denatured alcohol paragraph 4

Special denatured alcohol paragraph 4 is obtained through a special denaturation process as per Italian Ministerial Decree 524/1996, art. 2, paragraph 4. It is mainly used in the preparation of products such as detergents, air fresheners, shoe polishes and insecticides. Subject to authorisation by the financial authorities, it may also be used for other purposes. Clear and colourless in appearance.

Special denatured alcohol letter d)

Special denatured alcohol letter d) is obtained through a special denaturation process as per Italian Ministerial Decree 524/1996, art. 2, paragraph 2, letter d). Mainly used in the preparation of deodorants, creams and other skin products, subject to authorisation by the financial authorities it may also be used for other purposes. It has a clear and colourless appearance, with specific sensory characteristics for cosmetic use.

Special denatured alcohol letter c)

Special denatured alcohol letter c) is obtained through a special denaturation process as per Italian Ministerial Decree 524/1996, art. 2, paragraph 2, letter c). Mainly used in the preparation of hairsprays and hair products, subject to authorisation by the financial authorities it may also be used for other purposes. Clear and colourless in appearance.

Special denatured alcohol letter b)

Special denatured alcohol letter b) is obtained through a special denaturation process as per Italian Ministerial Decree 524/1996, art. 2, paragraph 2, letter b). Mainly used in the preparation of alcoholic perfumes, subject to authorisation by the financial authorities it may also be used for other purposes. It has a clear and colourless appearance, with specific sensory characteristics for cosmetic use.
