Below is the full programme:
Tuesday 7 November, 11.00 a.m.
Circularity at Caviro – Caviro Extra’s activities for the Group’s circular economy
Speaker: Silvia Bandini – Marketing & Sustainability Manager
The Caviro Group has always been committed to making the most of its partners’ grapes through an integrated supply chain. Caviro Extra’s activities are focused on this process: as part of a path that both originates and ends in the vineyard, Caviro has taken inspiration from the quality of the properties still contained in wine production waste to promote a virtuous circular economy model based on extracting full value from every natural resource.
Wednesday 8 November, 12.00 noon
Biorefinery and Noble Products – Caviro Extra and the regeneration of matter
Speaker: Gabriele Bassi – Director of Operations
Beginning with the company’s traditional distillation activities, today Caviro Extra performs cutting-edge research and development on biorefining and the extraction – using waste from the wine and agri-food supply chains – of 100% bio-based products, such as natural tartaric acid, second-generation alcohol, oenocyanin, grape seeds and other extracts. These high value-added products are designed for leading companies in the pharmaceutical, agri-food and beverage sectors.
Thursday 9 November, 11.00 a.m.
BioLNG – The liquefaction of advanced biomethane, towards the decarbonisation of the heavy transport sector
Speaker: Alberto Bertoni – Technical Area and New Projects Manager
Thanks to a cryogenic liquefaction process (-146°C), the new BioLNG plant, built in collaboration with Ham Italia, makes it possible to liquefy the advanced biomethane that Caviro Extra produces from agri-food chain waste. This new advanced liquid biofuel is, therefore, suitable for powering heavy vehicles, including those used within the Caviro Group’s logistics network: a concrete solution which both responds to the need to decarbonise heavy transport and makes the Group’s supply chain even more sustainable and circular.
Friday 10 November, 11.00 a.m.
Bioenergy – The renewable energy sources of Caviro Extra and Enomondo
Speaker: Lorenzo Valtieri – Energy Manager and Plant Manager
Caviro Extra, in synergy with Enomondo, a joint venture with Herambiente, produces 160 GWh of electricity equivalent per year, the result of the conversion and the sum of the electricity, heat energy and biofuels produced. In this way, the electricity at the Faenza site is green and self-produced from renewable sources and 55% of the total energy produced is sold externally. One example is the district heating system which, in addition to powering the facilities onsite, is connected to various adjacent public and private utilities, including AlphaTauri, the well-known Formula 1 team.
